Day 26056! 25 Feb 26!

A slightly belatedly posted Happy Birthday to my brother!

He is the one holding the baby (1st son Sean), between Mom and his wife Joan.  I think I was home on leave before reporting to either Germany or the Defense Language Institute in Monterey…this was taken in The Place For Steak in Whitefish.

Happy Birthday!

Day 26055! 24 Feb 26!

A couple of late evening photos of the office.  Fuzzy trees are branches moving in the breeze.

Day 26054! 23 Feb 26!

Jerome up on the mountain.

And interesting cloud floating by.

Day 26053! 22 Feb 26! My longest post of the year so far!

I watched a Youtube video from a guy who travels all over Arizona using his drone.  It was on the Center of Arizona (Finding the Center of Arizona).  Turns out it is in a park in Camp Verde just down the road!

As you can see by the monument, it is actually 23.3 miles to the South East done in the Wilderness, reachable only by canoe or kayak following the Verde River.  Camp Verde is the closest town to that spot.

The rest of this nice little park (Rezzonico Family Park)…

…has a variety of cactus planted about.

A brief respite from the cactus: it sounds like fun!

Back to the cactus!

All in all we had a fun drive down to Camp Verde to see the Center of Arizona.  We stopped for lunch at the Krow in Cottonwood, it was very good.  Then some propane for the furnace and home again!  Later in the evening, the Crescent Moon was shining down.  Getting a good Moon shot on a cellphone is problematical at best.  Here are two great photos…unless you wanted to actually see the Moon.

Day 26052! 21 Feb 26!

A bit of rare sunset color!

Day 26051! 20 Feb 26!

I heard a bunch of coyotes and what-not howling outside, so I grabbed my iPhone and rushed to the door, ready to record their song.

They all quit before I got to the door handle.  So you get a nice night time shot of the sky, and the neighbors’ trailer!

The wind is blowing a bit, along with some rain on and off, expected to last all night.  The branches are fuzzy because e they are moving in this long exposure.

Day 26050! 19 Feb 26!

This flagpole was directly behind me as I shot yesterday’s photos.

It was cool and rainy.  I did see the outside temperature at 27F, but it warmed up a degree.  (The clock is off by 12 hours, it is actually 2:30 AM). This is furnace trouble temps, as well as whyI bought the heated water hose.

And this week is half way through our snow birding adventure.  Back home the rabbits are out using the swing it looks like!  Daytime temps are in the single digits, vs just below freezing at night here.

Day 26049! 18 Feb 26!

Kind of a blustery day.  A bit of rain, not as windy as the other night when the Starlink blew off the slide!

A spot of sun.

A whole panorama, looking NorthWest.  The Rain Spirit entrance is on the left, the back of office is on the right.

Day 26048! 17 Feb 26!

Early morning looking by our trailer and over our car.  It was a much drier and less windy day than yesterday was.  We can’t recall ever bouncing around in our trailer due to wind gusts as much as we did last night!  While it blew off the slide out roof yesterday evening, at some point our Starlink antenna, which was down on the ground, got flipped by the wind.  The thing is not light…

At the end of the day, a very rare, for this year anyway, colorful sunset, right out the window over the dinette.

Day 26047! 16 Feb 26!

A little breezy and partly overcast today.  Not too hot!

Then just after dark the wind & rain got up…and the Starlink came down.  It landed upright, just pointed the wrong direction.  So I turned it around on the ground.  I only missed by 18 degrees!

Maybe after the wind quits tomorrow it will go back up.  It works just fine where it is.
