Day 164: Dad’s Service

We went to Dad’s Service yesterday.  It was a nice drive up: here is Glacier National Park  via the Dailylife Wife’s phone.

This is the DD#1’s family at the Duke house that was the home for Dad and Sarah for the last couple of years.  Sarah is selling it. My Stepbrother Doug and his wife Shawna are on the right in the kitchen.

My niece Mariah.  Much of her art is self-drawn.  (This is what happens when you leave your kids alone for too long…)

A panorama of the living room: the Dailylife Wife, Gramma Sarah, Mariah and sister Deyanne.

I have seen more bikes at a funeral, but considering that Dad wasn’t a Veteran and this was local and not State-wide, this isn’t too bad!

I tried to get some 360-panoramas, but this is all that turned out: my brother Dennis and some of his crew.

My sister-in-law Joan, stepbrother Doug, Gramma Sarah, my sister Deyanne and the brim of the Dailylife Wife’s hat.

This Pastor is apparently the son of the previous Pastor and has known Dad his whole life.

Dad’s ashes, sans popcorn, are in the black box.

We almost missed putting popcorn in the “vault” with the ashes…there is the maintenance guy who does the actual putting in the ground, Timber, a riding buddy of Dad and Sarah’s from the Christian Motorcycle Association and brother Dennis.  A little popcorn is visible on the green “stage”.

DD#1 and Family (by DD#1).  She was hoping to get an all cousin photo (only two were missing) but it did not work out.

At the Bible Study Groups luncheon after the service.  Shawna, Doug’s daughter Cherissa (sp?), Doug and Sarah.

DD#1 and Family, including Nana the Dailylife Wife, at Easthaven Baptist Church.

From the ride home: Lugnut on Marias Pass.

One final photo: (most of) The Family after Skeeter was born in 2019: Me, Lugnut, ‘Stache, DD#1, Toots, Sarah, Dad.  And Skeeter, of course!

All-in-all, not a bad day considering!

Admin Crap

I got hacked on Facebook yesterday.  I walked right into it because their scam message came from Robyn, and it didn’t seem out of character for some of the help I have given her online.  I figured it out 17 minutes later and it was too late.  Nothing I do with FB gets me back on: the hacker changed everything.  Then he tried to tell DD#1 that for $200 he’d give me account back.  I’d take a dull machete to his balls for free!

Facebook has been completely unresponsive.  Following their instructions leads to a page to end in ID, like a photo of my Drivers License.  Then it ends.  There is nowhere to go from there, and FB doesn’t reply.

I really miss Messenger a lot more than FB.  It was very convenient.

Robyn is a lot more upset than me.  I think she’d just use a piece of rebar.

Day 158

After this Spring, a welcome relief…and to top it off I just had may Facebook account hacked and I walked right into it.

Day 156 ~ Sad Tidings and Thanks for all the good wishes we have received.

(This is the test of the post I made on Facebook the day after.  Charles Aden Barrow passed away on June 5th, 2023.)

Dad at a Christian motorcycle Association campout.

Me and Dad leaving on a trip.

He passed a little after 3am, and I got a call a little after 4am.  Dennis and I were meeting again to go up and see Dad anyway, so we stopped to help Sarah make funeral arraignments and clean out Dad’s room at the Prestige Memory Care unit.

Here he is on his War Surplus “HarleyDavisonTheBest!”

On an original Indian Chief!

My brother Dennis and I ate lunch with our step-mom Sarah.

We had gone up the previous Monday but he had been in a bad way and I didn’t take any photos.  That previous one with the flower is my last.
