Day 166

I had a nice walk along the Trail today.  (Click to enlarge, BACK to return!)

This is Crooked Falls, the last un-dammed Falls of the Great Falls of the Missouri*.  Most folks don’t even think about it being below Rainbow Dam and Falls.

Looking back up at Rainbow Dam, Falls and Trestle!

Another panorama from down the Trail, looking back.

*Coulter Falls is a couple hundred feet above Rainbow Falls, and while un-dammed, it was submerged when Rainbow Dam was filled, and has completely silted in.  It was not visible a few years ago when they lowered the water levels to the original river channel…

Day 164: Dad’s Service

We went to Dad’s Service yesterday.  It was a nice drive up: here is Glacier National Park  via the Dailylife Wife’s phone.

This is the DD#1’s family at the Duke house that was the home for Dad and Sarah for the last couple of years.  Sarah is selling it. My Stepbrother Doug and his wife Shawna are on the right in the kitchen.

My niece Mariah.  Much of her art is self-drawn.  (This is what happens when you leave your kids alone for too long…)

A panorama of the living room: the Dailylife Wife, Gramma Sarah, Mariah and sister Deyanne.

I have seen more bikes at a funeral, but considering that Dad wasn’t a Veteran and this was local and not State-wide, this isn’t too bad!

I tried to get some 360-panoramas, but this is all that turned out: my brother Dennis and some of his crew.

My sister-in-law Joan, stepbrother Doug, Gramma Sarah, my sister Deyanne and the brim of the Dailylife Wife’s hat.

This Pastor is apparently the son of the previous Pastor and has known Dad his whole life.

Dad’s ashes, sans popcorn, are in the black box.

We almost missed putting popcorn in the “vault” with the ashes…there is the maintenance guy who does the actual putting in the ground, Timber, a riding buddy of Dad and Sarah’s from the Christian Motorcycle Association and brother Dennis.  A little popcorn is visible on the green “stage”.

DD#1 and Family (by DD#1).  She was hoping to get an all cousin photo (only two were missing) but it did not work out.

At the Bible Study Groups luncheon after the service.  Shawna, Doug’s daughter Cherissa (sp?), Doug and Sarah.

DD#1 and Family, including Nana the Dailylife Wife, at Easthaven Baptist Church.

From the ride home: Lugnut on Marias Pass.

One final photo: (most of) The Family after Skeeter was born in 2019: Me, Lugnut, ‘Stache, DD#1, Toots, Sarah, Dad.  And Skeeter, of course!

All-in-all, not a bad day considering!
