Frohe Geburtstag!
Grandkritter #1, also known as Toots, turns 16 today!
The theory of TIME accelerating as you age has once again been proven correct…16 years???

This is the sunset looking back towards Jerome, half way up the mountain side. The turn off of the pavement in the corner leads down to the River Access for the Verde River.
This is the Access. The Verde River runs thought those trees. There is a tan house just above and to the left of the middle of the photograph. That is the owner’s residence for the Rain Spirit RV Resort. All of the RVs are on the flat ground just behind the house.
This is not a meteor; it is one of the many, many contrails we see every day. There is a lot more air traffic here than in Montana, even discounting the flight school in Cottonwood that circles over the RV Park with every student’s flight!

We had planned to cruise over to a big RV show in Quartsite, AZ, about 225 miles away on the Kalifornia border, but the Dailylife Wife had a headache when we got up, so maybe tomorrow!
But late in the afternoon we took a drive down by the Verde River to see if there was any wildlife. We took a run up river and I was remarking as we hit the scrub trees that in three years I had not yet seen a deer in there, even though it was prime deer habitat, when out of the corner of my eye…
(Dashcam Video!)
…there stood a big doe! It, of course, ran off before I could stop and get a better photo…

(This Project is in honor of Friend Robyn’s Birthday. Why? Who knows: it is the InterWeb, just go with it!)
I did a project today. I installed a new power strip. Not just any power strip, but a pop up power strip!
The Dailylife Wife had seen one of these in an Airstream Trailer video. What Lola wants, Lola gets!
==========
Our trailer has a small outdoor kitchen. There was a small refrigerator, about half size for a dorm room model, an ice maker, a two burner propane stove, and a “sink”. The sink is really just a plastic basin in a pull out drawer with the stove, with a sprayer that connects to the water with a quick disconnect fitting in the wall. I looked around and realized I don’t have any photos of the outside kitchen!
So here you see the opening where it is. I have taken the ice maker and refrigerator out: we have never and probably will never use them. The sink and stove are out of the way at the bottom.
I ordered this pop up power strip from Amazon:
XBA Automatic Pop up Power Strip with Wireless Charger
I also had to order a four inch hole saw. Mine only went to half that size.
Out of the box. It is a simple “plug in to an outlet”.
The hole will be in the upper right corner.
I drilled a pilot hole from the bottom, where I spaced the hole to have proper clearance. I used the hole saw to score the bottom of the countertop, then I drilled from the top.
Of course, somewhere in there I forgot about the sawdust…this is after I brushed off.
The hole was clean on both sides.
Here it is hanging down.
A plastic collar threads on from underneath and tightens the power strip in place.
Here it is plugged in. Fortunately there is even a GFI outlet in the compartment that the fridge and ice maker plugged into! I need to get something to hold the power cord up and out of the way. It is just long enough to do that with.
The finished project!
If you look closely it is charging the phone.
And popped up, there are three 120v outlets, and two USB ports. As well as the wireless charging station on the top. It all took about an hour, mainly because I was not in a hurry.

Why Panorama Day? Because all four photos are panoramas, of course!
===========
The Dailylife Wife and I made a drive up to Jerome. It is only “four” miles from Clarkdale but it is all uphill and winding mountain roads…the best kind!
If you drive straight past the firehouse in Jerome, rather than take the switchback, you will come to an old west ghost town. We plan to go back when it is warmer (when there isn’t snow on the ground). The views are spectacular from over there!
Click on this one to enlarge it. The snowy mountain tops on. the left are the San Francisco Peaks: Flagstaff is at the base of them. In about the same place on the horizon but on the right is Sedona. A two photo panorama!
This is another view to the North. Sedona is on the far left of the horizon, Jerome and the back of the firehouse are on the right. A two photo panorama!
In addition to a ghost town, there is a mine. I think it must still be active, because there is a very nice parking lot. But where the entrance is now I don’t know. I don’t think they use this pit anymore. Another two photo panorama!
If you drive through Jerome another half mile there is an overlook. Not of Jerome, but back down and across the Verde Valley to Sedona. A one photo Panorama, with the Dailylife Wife! More of Jerome in the future.
