Day 2023020!

A quiet day down at the RV Park!  It started with a nice sunrise…

But what is that down on the picnic table?

Yup.

So it looks like I will be unhooking the fresh water hose tonight.  I don’t have one of the fancy heated ones for the few days I have to do this.

I did fix a problem with our black water tank.  The gauge always read 1/3 full even after I had emptied it.  Today it read 2/3 full even after I had drained it.  Something was hung up on a sensor…

Fortunately our trailer has a black tank flush system.  I hooked it up (“DO NOT USE YOUR FRESH WATER HOSE TO OPERATE THE BLACK TANK FLUSH!”) and let it run for about ten minutes.  There was stuff in the water as it washed out the tank, but it seemed clear by the time I turned it off.  And the gauge read empty!

Now if the furnace would just run consistently when it is suppose to…

Same view at sunset!  You can just see the snow on the mountains near Sedona on the horizon on the left side of the photo.

Day 2023019!

I took a quick trip around the area this morning.  All of the rain and snow has certainly raised the Verde River!  That is where I like to shoot on the River here.

The Verde River is probably more like what it was when William A. Clark (one of the Butte Copper Kings!) founded Clarkdale.  I will try to find a photo of its regular depth and post it.

Running North towards Sedona yielded a nice two photo panorama from my iPhone.  Click on it to enlarge it:

Turning up a Forest Service road in the hills gives a different and closer view of some of Sedona’s charm.

There is a little boondocking campsite (No Open Fires!) called Angel Valley down that road a bit.   It isn’t rough in the campsite, or at the road, but the transition between then is a pretty sharp angle.  Not for my Trailer!  Once is enough!

Cactus along the road.

A vertical panorama of an interesting tree.

Another iPhone panorama of the red rocks and snow near Sedona.

And lastly is the Verde Valley as I roll down the last set of hills from Sedona.  Camp Verde is to the far left, Cottonwood is ahead, and Clarkdale is to the right.  Jerome is above Clarkdale.

Cold and snow is in the forecast for here, so I won’t have to drive to Sedona to see it!

Day 2023018! Part 2!

Just a quick second post for the nice sunset over the almost empty RV Park…

Day 20230118! Guest Photographer!

I was driving on our trip tpo the Snows of Sedona, so the Dailylife Wife took these.  I edited.

Looking over Sedona.

This is driving up Oak Creek Canyon on the north side of Sedona.

Looking back down Oak Creek Canyon.

As you approach Oldtown Sedona from the north you can see way down the valley to Cathedral Rock.

A closeup of Cathedral Rock from the trailhead parking on Back O’ Beyond Road.

It was a nice trip!

Day 20230107!

We took a trip up through Sedona to see the snow on the rocks.  Starting with breakfast at Annie’s in Cottonwood.

From downtown Old Sedona.

These two panoramas are based on the same two photos merged, but are cropped differently.  This is the Back O’ Beyond Road.  It leads to a view of Cathedral Rock (see tomorrow’s post) and is where I took my best Moonset photo a few years ago!

Moonset, 2012.

Day 20230116!

A variety of photos…

Our mood cave!

We had snow, rain, clouds, and blue sky and sun all at once.

One of the less fun parts of RV life…

Day 2023015!

Kind of dull yesterday and rainy today…but I did spy something across the river…

Yup!  There might even be two of them!

But just what is it?

It is the Verde Canyon Railroad!

I road this one several years.  It is a nice ride.  Mostly in a canyon, but there is a tunnel!

She was heading back to the Station after a run.

I hope to ride it again this year!

(One photo panorama!)

Early morning on the way to the shower house.

Day 2023013!

A Mountain Bluebird!

In something completely unrelated, here is a nice cellphone panorama of our street in the RV Park.  It is at less than 50% full.  I expect that should start changing this weekend.  It is a three day with MLK Day on Monday.

(Click on the photo a couple of times to enlarge it; use BACK to return here!)

And lastly (and mainly because I wanted to round out the photos in the Number 3!) here is my new piece of kit: A Viltrox lens adapter, to adapt Canon EF/EF-S lenses to Canon EF-M cameras.  I already have one (a Canon!  Only $159!) but it will be a bit more convenient to have a second one.  $36.99 on Amazon…the first one was part of a package, and was a lot less  than $159 in actuality…that is a lot of money for a tube with some pass through wires…but it sure is nice to have!
