Day 167

A new import to the Barrow Backyard Bird Sanctuary:  a Eurasian Collared-Dove. They are a recent arrival from the Caribbean, and closely related to the Spotted Doves we saw in Hawai’i. This is the northwestern end of their new range. Handheld with my 400mm lens, 1/1500 second, ISO 200 and f5.6.  In less than ideal […]

Day 166

Lupine<?> in the backyard, compliments of the Dailylife Wife. No “artsy” settings, either.  Don’t think I even put it on “macro”. ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

Day 165

The Dailylife Wife likes flamingoes.  So we got one for the back deck.  It is pink and lights up.  So here it is in black and white.  And you can see the lights… Also an “artsy” setting on my new camera: grainy black & white. ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

Day 164: An Afternoon With ‘Stache!

He does like his Playdo. Taken with my new camera on an “artsy” setting. He has been very happy since he figured this part of the swing out so he could do it by himself. Think this is a cheesy photo? Not hardly… ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

Day 163

We had the annual end-of-the-year Camera Club dinner this week.  We went to the Golden Corral.  I took Toots with me, our youngest member.  This is one of her photos from the competition subject “Lit by Candlelight”.  Sadly neither of us won on the end of the year competition. A nice Cup ‘o Joe at […]

Day 162

I got a couple of new toys the other day: a fisheye, wide angle and macro lens set for my cellphone/iPod/iPad! My first successful fisheye photo. It comes in six pieces: two lens caps, a clip to screw the lenses into and to clip over the camera in the cellphone (the macro is screwed into […]
