Day 223

I don’t know how much Grampa got when he sold the Farm in Wibaux County, way back in the 1960’s, but I am thinking even adjusted for inflation, not even close.  The top left circle’s number, if you can’t read it, is $29,900,000. Unless somebody has been holding out on us… ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

Day 218

I went out to photograph the Northern Lights tonight, but it seemed to have settled down by the time it got to /\/\onTana!. All of the smoke and a full moon didn’t help any! Stars in the daylight? Not quite…that was the Eclipse! This is just an overly long exposure, but there is just a […]

Day 216

For a little perspective on this fire, this is a house beside MT200, about three miles west of Lincoln, just before the westbound road goes into the mountains. And a closer view! ~Curtis in Smokey /\/\onTana! {!-{>

Day 215

Just north and west of Lincoln is a fire visible of the road.  Maybe two miles? It smolders, then flares… ** *** And smolders. Then flares again   This is with a 55mm lens.  Not great for long distance night shots!  Hand held, too.  But I think there may be an animation in this bunch, […]

Day 214

From the widest in the road to the west of Ovando, looking West towards Seeley Lake. A three photo panorama.   And a close up of that main column of smoke. ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

Day 213

Last Thursday (the 31st of August) I took a Red Cross run to Helena and Missoula.  It was smokey heading into Helena! It was smokier still heading down the west side of MacDonald Pass and onto the Interstate! Really smokey. Then, surprisingly, it cleared up a few miles south of town.  The Red Cross guy […]
