Day 104

Going back a month or so it was flooding down on the Verde River.  The level of the water is right up to the edge of the parking area…six to eight foot higher than normal.  The place we stay is off to the lef, across the river and up the hill. ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

No collusion here…great minds think alike!

Day 088!

On the Road Again!  Here is Old Town Cottonwood, looking as empty as I have ever seen it in the daytime! We took I17 to Flagstaff, and then US89 to Kanab, UT.  We could have followed US89 all the way home, except for the several mountain passes and ranges that are still snowed in. This […]

Day 079! A Proud Day!

Back in 1973 I earned my Eagle Rank in the Boy Scouts!  Here I am at the Eagle Recognition by the State Governor, Tom Judge, in 1974.  I am the handsome dude behind his left shoulder. Well, 49 years later (whenever the 18th of March, 2023 is!) Toots got to go to the same Eagle […]

Day 067!

We stopped at Picacho State Park on the way back north.  They were having a super bloom or something or other. https://azstateparks.com/picacho/ This is a rugged little mountain range stuck off by itself. There was a bit of a line.  It was worse when we were leaving. The Dailylife Wife waaaaayyy down there! (Click on […]

Day 066!

After our time at the Sonoroa Desert Museum, we made a quick spin through the Saguaro National Park.  We missed the actual “Saguaro Nat’l Park” sign… (Photo by the Birthday Girl!) They have…cactus… …lots of cactus… Weathered cactus! More and more… And down the road too! Even after you get onto pavement and leave the […]

Day 065!

Frohe Geburtstag! No numbers, please! We celebrated her birthday by going to the Sonora Desert Museum!  “Close” parking… Free iPhone charging! We are here.  Somewhere… First up was the hummingbird house. I was a bit disappointed in this, but only because they didn’t have many birds.  Here is an Anna’s, like we have nesting beside […]

Day 064!

We took off for a couple of days in Tucson.  As we were leaving Cottonwood this neat pickup truck zppeared! This is Picachu Peak. I don’t know what mountain this is… A quick snapshot by the Dailylife Wife.  (She took two…this is the one where I hadn’t started to smile yet…) A view of Tucson […]
