Day 306

Down in Somers, /\/\onTana! there used to be a lumber mill.  They had the most interesting steam engines to run logs and lumber around the yard. (1/160s f/6.3 ISO100 28.9mm (35mm eq:135mm) P7100) The steam was created by a stationary boiler.  The little engines would dock with boiler and take on steam to use…no fire […]

(1/2000s f/5.0 ISO800 10.7mm (35mm eq:50mm) -2/3 stop P7100) Not quite to heavily edited. (1/2000s f/5.0 ISO100 10.7mm (35mm eq:50mm)-1 stop P7100) The birds nearby. (1/320s f/5.6 ISO100 42.6mm […]

Day 275

The smoke cleared out enough you could see the Highwood Mountains tonight.  So I ran on out to the railroad tunnel and got these from the hill above it.  The colors were hard to process for me.  I really need to take some more lessons on post-processing some of these more difficult photos. (1/20s f/8.0 […]

Day 266

Rainbow Dam and Falls, almost dried up. (1/1000s f/4.5 ISO100 13mm (35mm eq:61mm) -1/3 stop P7100) Crooked Falls.  The power company say they have lowered the river for maintenance, but there has been no measurable precipitation in 35 days…it doesn’t get much lower than this! (1/800s f/5.6 ISO100 6mm (35mm eq:28mm) -2/3 stop P7100) ~Curtis […]

Day 248: Sunset at Fort Missoula

I am back in MIssoula.  It is very smokey, making it hard to breathe, but also making for colorful sunsets!  Here is the Tipi burner and the steam logging locomotive. (All photos: Nikon Coolpix P7100) *** *** *** ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

Day 244: Back to Glacier!

While on our trip to Glacier National Park we stopped in to see the Glacier Lodge, in, of course, (East) Glacier!  You can see the front of the Lodge to the right of Red Jammer 79. The Jammers are used to tour the Park, with the drivers, or Jammers, as tour guides.  The canvas top […]

Day 243: A brief intermission from Glacier…

A pretty if very red sunset tonight. (1/2000s f/8.0 ISO1250 112mm -1 stop) The Airport and windmills southwest of Great Falls. (1/500s f/8.0 ISO1250 75mm -1/2 stop) ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

Day 188

Lugnut and the Dailylife Wife went to the Safety Fair a week or two ago.  This is the Electric City Derby Grrllzzz. Then it was off to the ambulance!  I don’t know who his girlfriend is… Maybe he will be an ambulance driver! Of course, the back is pretty neat, too. Since this is the […]

Day 113: The Luau Pre Game Show!

After the train ride we stayed for the Lu’au Kalamaku.  It is a fantastic theater show/luau, with good food, and open bar, a local craft market… …and dancing girls! (Okay, you’ve seen this one already: Lots more to come!) Lots of dancing girls!  Of all shapes and sizes!  There maybe a few dancing boys in […]
