Day 302

People often wonder what Polarizing filters do.  Here is some of it: the darken skies and saturate colors!  The first photo is with a polarizing filter set on the lowest polarization. The second photo is set to the highest polarization. You can also eliminate reflects with polarizing filters. ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

Day 301

As you look across the highway at the rock wall from where that last photo was taken, it is an interesting texture. Sized for wallpaper! This ends our Yellowstone trip.  It was an uneventful drive home the next day. ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

Day 300

This is the road when you drop off the plateau and head down into Mammoth.  There wasn’t a lot of room to make a road… ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

Day 299

When you head north from Norris Geyser Basin, before you get to Obsidian Cliff, there is a nice little picnic area on the east side of the road.  It isn’t listed on the map I am looking at. Grey Jay. ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

On the way back after lunch, we found another coyote in about the same spot as the last one.  He was having lunch too! ~Curtis in /\/\onTana! {!-{>

We stopped for lunch in the north end of the Hayden Valley.  There were a couple of bison out there somewhere.  We were going to go on to Fishing Bridge and maybe back via Old Faithful, but there was a serious accident at the Sulpher Cauldron, and it was a four to five hour wait… […]
