Looking over the new development last night was the Full Moon coming up (that white dot on the middle…).
This is a crop from the center of the photo above. Not too shabby for a cellphone photo! I got it as close as I could to the bottom photo.
This is the digital zoom from the iPhone zoomed all the way in. Pretty close to the same.
That is all your digital zoom does on almost all cellphone cameras (and any other camera with a digital zoom): it does not enlarge the image, it just crops out the rest of it. So most of the time if you edit your cellphone photos, it is better to take a full sized photo and then crop later. You have more to choose from in the image.
