Day 26027!

So after losing the Internet and receiving a tip that Starlink Mini was on sale at Home Depot for $199, we decided to order one last night, for pickup in Flagstaff this morning.  I had a nice drive up and back.  This is looking East on Mingus Avenue, just outside of Cottonwood.  Mingus was the original name for the Town of Wibaux, /\/\onTana!, supposedly named for two cowboys, Min and Gus.  Probably just a coincidence, but Clarkdale is named after one of the Montana Copper Kings, William Clark, who built and owned the company town.

There wasn’t too much traffic heading up the big hill to Flagstaff.  The San Francisco Peaks are showing a little snow.

Once I finally located the Home Depot, I got the Starlink Mini antenna from this box.  It was a bit different than the parcel delivery system Walmart had during the recent pandemic.

Looking out over the Verde Valley on the way back.  Clarkdale, Cottonwood, Jerome, and Camp Verde are all down there, somewhere.

Then back to the trailer, a quick, simple setup and…well, it really was a quick and simple setup: plug the power cable into the power adapter and plug it in.  Plug the other end into the Starlink antenna, and point it at the sky!  Then sign up online or in the Starlink app.  Despite a well meant plan, I didn’t get photos pf the setup or ending.  Because after more than an hour on the phone with Starlink, apparently you can’t use a Mini antenna for Residential Service.  <<sigh>>

It went back to Home Depot the next day.
