Day 26037! 6 Feb 26!

It came!  Of course, I didn’t find out it about it tomorrow…errr…early morning on the 7th.

So I will be working this up today…errr…tomorrow…

Day 26036! 5 Feb 26!

A quick shot of returning to the RV park after a couple miles on my bike.  Now it is a bit warmer I am hoping to get up to ten miles/day.

Day 26035! 4 Feb 26!

I finally remembered to put the new tire cover on the spare at the back of the trailer!

I was trying to find a mount to go over the spare tire to hold a mast for our upcoming Starlink antenna.  There are many, many holders for Starlink or flagpoles that are an L shape with tube for the upright where the mast goes, and the bottom you just park your vehicle on, but not to mount ON the spare tire.  There are steps that go over the top of the tire, and I thought there might be something like that, but there isn’t that I have found.  There are quite a few that go in a receiver hitch, and a couple that will mount to the back RV bumper (4”x4”).  Most of those will also mount on the ball hitch A-frame at the front, too.  I don’t want a free standing mast holder because the wind will take it away like the ending of Mary Poppins.  So that 4”x4” one is the most likely if we decide to “permanently” mount the antenna.  For now it will be sitting in a chair outside of the trailer.

Day 26034.5…

Finally, late tonight, I was able to get Starlink ordered!  Hurray Me!  I ordered it last week, then realized I needed to use the referral link for DD#1, then it got stuck with a PENDING subscription that could not be cancelled.  I got GROK involved (he/it runs Starlinks troubleshooting/customer support department) and it took from the 29th until late tonight on the 3rd.  But someone finally reset things and I was able to order the #@$#%@ thing!

Day 26034

I did make it to the moonrise.  Tuzigoot wasn’t in line with Moon from where I could shoot, so we get a few trees on the horizon.

This first one, which was first, is a iPhone 13 photo.  The cellphones sure can see a lot more than the human eye: there was hardly even a faint glow when I took this!  The cellphones make a lot of the Northern Lights visible that you can’t see otherwise.

The rest of these are my Canon M50 with my 70-300L.

Maybe more tomorrow…

Day 26033

There is a cheater in the RV Park.

There is this BIG motorhome, with a semi-truck cab and an RV body behind it.  It is a neat rig!  It looks like a toy hauler, and I think it is…but he is a cheater!

Here is a photo of his rig.  You can see also one of the many, constant, never ending airplanes flying over Rain Spirit RV (there is a flight school at the airport and Rain Spirit is under the school’s flight path!) at the arrow.

He was putting a motorcycle into his truck.  He lowered what looked like a ramp on the back of the RV…it wasn’t. He lowered the whole thing FLAT to the ground, rolled the motorcycle up on it, LIFTED the whole thing up to truck bed level…

…BACKED his truck up to it, and rolled the bike straight onto the truck bed.  Then he folded it up and again against the back of the RV.  That’s CHEATIN’ I tell you, CHEATIN’!  He agreed, BTW, and said it beat the living heck out of regular ramps!

In other news (?) I didn’t make it out to shoot the full moon rising last night.  Too busy eating Lemon Orzo Chicken the Dailylife Wife made!  Pretty good!  The peas weren’t part of it, but why get another plate dirty just for that?  They went good in it anyway!

And a couple gratuitous moon photos through the door and over the motorhome!

More and better tonight, I hope!

Day 26032, Part 2!

Still missing it…{=-{<

5:32pm if my sources are correct.  Time to go down to Giants Springs and watch for Tyrannosaurus Rex footstep vibrations in the water.

Admin Post , blog date: 26032…

I recently updated my Mac Mini to Tahoe 26.2.  As usual it screwed stuff up.  My Photoshop Adobe Elements program that I have been editing for many years, is no longer supported by this OS.  There is no apparent update (my version was a PURCHASE, not a lease from Adobe with weekly/monthly/annual fees) and others seem to be put out also.  So suddenly I am not going to be updating the OS on my Macbook…

<<sigh>>

Day 26032!

This is Gary.  He is the “do it all” guy around here.  In addition to trying to keep cactus from falling over, he has at least one cherry classic car hidden!

It is full moon time again!  I am going out looking for moonrises tomorrow night and beyond, so there should be some fresh Moon here soon.

Day 26031!

In slightly related news, when the DD#1 in the previous post went to college we got her an Acer Ferrari Edition laptop.  It came in a leatherette slipcase.  Long ago, after the Acer had departed this mortal coil, DD#1 gave me the slipcase.  For many years I kept a solar powered bluetooth keyboard I got for my first iPad.  It slept in there for a long time, only to start right up when I needed a keyboard for my MacMini! I have since moved my MacBook into the slipcase, because I still have it some 17+/- years later, and use it.  It is in pretty good shape, too.
