Day 135: Back to Kauai!

We started our first full day on Kauai at a gathering of guests to offer activities for the week: snorkeling, sightseeing flights, dinner cruises, and so on. It was, as so many places are in Hawai’i, an open air pavilion.

A Red Crested Cardinal.

Of course, it being an open air pavilion, there are…chickens.

Another view of the scenery at the Bali Hai Villas!

And a chicken.

Then it is down to the Kilauea Lighthouse and National Wildlife Refuge that we saw earlier from the Pride of America.  (The second lighthouse down, near the bottom of the page…)

A Laysan Albatross.

Nest gathering.

Closer!

A view of the lighthouse from the Island side.

As I mentioned before, all of those white spots are roosting birds…

…mainly Laysan Albatrossesesess..<?>…

…but also the occasional Red Footed Booby!

Then it was down to the beach and a few self portraits!

(iPod photos!)

Of course, some rate better than others…

More to come from the beach!
