The Dole Plantation is mainly a demonstration of what they do and did now. Â The crops are exhibits. Â Pineapple and sugar cane have pretty much moved away from the Islands. Â Here is sugar cane and bananas (the short plants…)

They grow Ginger and other ornamental plants along side the tracks.
It was a partly cloudy and rainy day, but we mostly caught the sunshine while on our excursion. Â This field was recently harvested and was regrowing.

The route is a long stretch of track with a loop at both ends. Â The end away from the station is a well manicured park, next to a reservoir.
There are full signs and signals at each grade crossing…

All too soon we arrive back at our station. Â A nice little glimpse into what the history of Hawai’i. Â Most pineapple now comes from Central America.
