Day 204: Restoration to be

A Saturday morning project in Ogden.

They are trying to restore this old 4-6-0 Denver and Rio Grande locomotive.

Where the steam pushes on the piston that makes the wheels go round.

One of the leading wheels.

One of the big driving wheels.

Where the smoke comes out!

This part is usually inside of the cab.  It controls the steam…

There is a tender to be restored, too.

Lots of work needed.  Here is the logo on the wheel-less tender…

…and what it should look like.

Well, at least the front of the locomotive still has wheels…

…not much else, though.
