Having made a few bucks between the Fair and Avis, I decided to splurge and get an all steel guide rod and recoil spring for my carry piece. 18# vs 16# stock, too. That was mostly by accident. I thought the stock spring was 18#, and it is actually 16#. It should help mitigate that ferocious recoil of the 9mm Parabellum!
The left one is the stock spring. The lower black part inside of the spring is plastic. The aftermarket on the right is all steel.
