Those Red-breasted Mergansers, below.
This guy walked a few feet behind me and got into the brush.
(Okay, okay, I am not really complaining about him not stoping for a few snaps…)
Just as I arrived and shut the truck off this guy flew over. The 400mm lens was way too long and I just couldn’t get him in focus before he flew off. I saw him once more as I was trying to leave…I jumped out of the truck but he was gone again.
