Another great change at Big Mountain (whoops! Â Whitefish Mountain Resort…) is the summer activities. The Zipline that the GrandPop went on is one of them. Â Here are a couple more:
This is called “Strider”. Â It is a motocross course…for little kids. Â They ride bikes without pedals (see the closeup photo) and just push around the course. Â The little girl in the closeup had been on the course for an hour or so when I got there. Â She was still going strong when I left an hour later!
(A cellphone panorama! Â Click on it a couple times to enlarge it; BACK to return here.)
You can see some of the push bike, or Strider, better here.
Another change is there is a “Summer Tubing” waterslide for inner tubes. Â You can see it at the top of this photo.
This shows it a bit better, with two kids who didn’t make it all the way down…the really neat part I didn’t get a photo of. Â The handrail you see in this photo isn’t a walkway to the top (the course is about 200 feet long? and a total rise of maybe 12-15 feet): it is a MOVING walkway to the top! Â Just like the moving walkways in big airports. Â Only this one comes apart at the end of the summer inner tubing season.
Here is a photo of the whole thing (without riders…it did have quite a few, just not when I got a photo of it!).
Across the Strider track is another Zipline related activity. Â There is an obstacle course in the trees!
It features ziplines, rope climbs and monkey bridges, and probably more!
It looks like a lot of fun to me!
