Day 092: Dancing on the Lek!

Every year from April through mid-May the Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge draws for entrance to the photography blind by one of the Sharp-tailed Grouse leks, or breeding dance grounds. This year Friend Walter and I got to go the first morning. You have to be in the blind an hour before sunrise, and can’t leave until after the dancing is done. Dress warmly!
