Day 275: On to Canyon Village!

Soon after leaving the Lake area there was wildlife:  Buffalo (or Bison to the persnickety).

These were before reaching the Hayden Valley, which has a lot of open grasslands to see wildlife in.  When there is any.  Which there wasn’t.  Just these.

This is the Mud Volcano.  Very interesting.  Very smelly.  And very crowded, despite the traffic actually being pretty tame for Yellowstone.  It does have nice parking and walkways, if there is room.

The weather was nice, but a bit cool.  Not many fishermen…

I didn’t take time to stop at Artist Point, or the Upper or Lower Falls of the Yellowstone, or the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.  I was behind schedule and crossing Beartooth Pass in the dark in below freezing temperatures made me keep hustling right along, with few photo stops.  I did take a break at Canyon Village because I needed to get a few souvenirs for the grand-critters before I left the park.  So what do I find in the gift shop but…a 1975 Honda Goldwing, just like the two I had!  Well, mine didn’t have a sidecar or saddlebags full of rocks, but still…{!-{>
