Day 323, 11 November, Part 1

We had a nice day here for a change.  There was wind and rain last night, and it looked grim this morning.  By lunchtime, though, it had started to clear and was very nice.  We did listen to a timeshare spiel this morning to pass the time while the clouds left, and made $100!  Then it was off to lunch in Kapaa at Eggbeater!  Breakfast All Day…we had sandwiches.  Pretty good, too.  We will be going back there.  After that was a trip to Lihue and back to Princeville.  50MPH is the top speed; the girls in the Mustang Convertible ahead of us kept raising there hands up in the air like they were doing 100!

We stopped at a scenic area to take a few photos…of chickens, the State Bird of KFC (Kauai’i Fried Chicken!).  Chickens are everywhere here.  The hurricanes keep blowing the chicken coops into the forests, and they go wild.  They will wake you in the middle of the night, or the middle of the day.  Friend Robyn will love it here.

They do have some colorful ones.  And they pose well.

Day1332303

Here is the coast looking back southeast towards Lihue.  Yesterday the water was brown.

Day1332301

Once we got back to Bali Hai we had a delicious feast of Costco Rotisserie Chicken (we don’t know if it was a local…), salad and rolls out on our lanai.  Here is the view of the sunset and patio by the pool from there.
