I recently acquired a Ruger PC Carbine that can take either Ruger Security 9 magazines or, with a little work switching out a part, Glock magazines. The Security 9 mags lock into place due to a slot in the front of the magazine, rather than the more common side slots. But I had heard that these Beretta magazines from a company called KCI would lock into place without trouble. I got a one of them (the one on the left) and tried it. It did not fit. But I had hopes of cutting the slot into the magazine because almost all of my other magazines fit in the Security 9 magazine hole in the Carbine! Lots of mags would will work that I already own.
I recently got another Beretta magazine, the one on the right..and with a very small bit of filing on. the flat side of that funny shaped hole near the top of the mag, it DID lock into place!
So then what are all of those holes for? The lower slots on both mags are for the Beretta 92. The rectangle between them is for a Ruger PC9/P-85. The two side holes above those are for a Canik TP9 series pistol, but they actually work for my Taurus G series pistol, and I would presume for the SIG P226 also (they take the same pattern magazine). The funny hole with the rounded bottom is for a Springfield Armory XD. And apparently if you file just about 1/16th of an inch or less off of the top, it will also fit a Ruger Security 9/PC Carbine! So seven in one, not bad! Even if it does sound like the name of a Star Trek character…
