Day 70

Friend Walter and I went up to Grand Falls, east of Flagstaff.  It is locally known as “Chocolate” Falls: on the rare occasions the water actually flows over over the falls, the water looks like…chocolate.  About 7 miles of washboard to get here!

Walter approaching the edge…

Walter STILL approaching the edge…

At the edge!  The white on the posts behind Walter is snow…

The Falls is on the right, the lighter colored rock.  Is is supposedly higher than Niagara Falls.  I think more water flows over Niagara in less than a second than in a whole year here.  This is from inside the viewing shelter.

The river flowed through here when a volcano decided to flow it lava over it.  The backed up river had to cut a new channel.
