We made it out to the lighthouse to see what was happening.
(Olympus PEN PL-2 by the Dailylife Wife!)
This is the northern most point of the (inhabited) Hawaiian Island Chain.
(All others: Canon 7D)
As you can see, it was windy and the sea was rough.
There were some birds flying around, but not too many, nor did they come close. Â It is at the end of one specie’s season here, and just the beginning of another’s. Â They fly in from the mainland!
Unknown.  Dailylife Daughter #2’s roommate, a birder of some intensity, decided to identify these two unknowns.  I sent hera few more photos and she has determined that they are both Brown-footed Boobies.  I can not argue with her.
Unknown. Antoher Brown-footed Boobie.
A red-footed booby.
Another view of the Lighthouse.
And last, but not least, the State Bird of Hawai’i, the Nene.
