Day 122 (10 Apr 10 part 1): San Diego here we come!

We needed a break from all-Disney-all-the-time…so we took a day and headed off to San Diego.  It hasn’t changed much from my 11 weeks over four TDY’s in one year, back around 2002 or so.  My first chance at photos was in La Jolla (La Hoy Ya).

It was an outdoors day: surfers…

…bike racers…

…and kayakers!

A Brown Pelican.  They were on the Endangered Species list until November of 2009.

A view of the beach and the La Jolla Lifeguard Station.

Seals on the beach, and the coast looking north towards Torrey Pines Golf Course and Glider Port.  These lazy buggers: they would flop towards the water a few feet, then wait until a wave came up over them to swim out.  Sometimes it was a long wait, too!

A nice day to watch the beach.  Toots really like the sand and seals!

Next: Coronado…
