Day 54…A Blast From The Past!

In April of 2003 we went on a family vacation to Las Vegas!  Everyone had a great time (first time, but not the last, to see Blue Man Group!) and I got an early birthday present: a Canon Powershot A70!  Then we adjourned to the Grand Canyon, where Kirsten and I braved the icey cold (it snowed…) and went out to see the full moon over the Grand Canyon.  I got these shots out on a rock point jutting out into nothingness…a tripod was used…Robyn, you would have loved it: you couldn’t see that there wasn’t any there…there…{!-{>

(Other sky at night photos: Day 334, Day 291 – A little more night work… and Day 290, Day’s End)

Looking west…

The original images are almost black; I have processed these to make them visible.

Looking East toward the Full Moon…

There actually is too much tonal range between the Moon and the Blackness here; there is almost no detail in the darkness of this photo, unlike the two above.
