Day 292

Cedar Breaks National Monument, or How High Can We Go?

Cedar Breaks is North of Zion National Park and West of Bryce Canyon National Park, in Utah.

(All photos are on the Nikon Coolpix L11 on Auto.)

There is a nice Ranger Cabin/Gift Shop.

(Three photos stitched together in MS ICE)

As you walk out to the viewing area above, there is more helpful information…you are higher than either of the National Parks I mentioned…that is pretty high up…

Cedar Breaks is a giant amphitheater…three miles across.  Kind of a cross between Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon.

(Four photos stitched together in MS ICE)

Hoodoos in the Breaks.

I did go higher…10, 636 feet!

Looking back over at the viewpoint, three miles away.

The last time I was here was March of 2003, and there was six to eight feet of snow blocking the road.

I wasn’t on my Goldwing, either!
