Day 276: Angels Window part 2

Here is a closer view of the Angels Window.  You can see the Colorado River through it.  Note the railings on the top…it is a pretty good viewpoint on its own.

A very nice idea is the park benches at most of the view points.  It is not nearly as busy as the South Rim: you can sit and just absorb and recharge.  People show up, but there wasn’t bus load after bus load on five minute stops.  This is neat the end of the trail from the parking lot to Cape Royal.  It is about 0.4 miles to the end of the  Cape.

While they fenced off the edges, they did not dress the top of the Window: Watch where you walk!

If you noticed it looked a little narrow in one spot on the way out on the Window.  It narrowed down to about two feet, and what you see through the fencing is several hundred feet below.  The actual Window is right below this point I think.

OK, it may be little wider than two feet, but standing there it sure seemed that narrow!

Looking down.

A little higher than the one above, on the left the sloping part is Freya Castle, the point part is Vishnu Temple.

Looking down at the bottom of the Canyon, Eastward.

Here is another panorama that didn’t line up quite as well as I wanted.  Hey, I do this freehand!

The Cape is pretty narrow at this point.  Here is what it looks like from the other side.

Next up, the End of Cape Royal!
