Day 226: The Last Day in Hawai’i!

On our last morning on Kauai we woke to clouds and a little rain.  Please note the two UFO’s in the upper right corner that came to say goodbye…

It did clear up a bit as we neared the airport.

A short wait at the airport (TSA and the Dept of Agriculture…!)…

…and we were in the air and saw the last of Kauai…

Oahu.

Once again as we landed we flew over a golf course under construction.

Then it was a walk to the far end of the terminal, a quick lunch, and wait for this Korea bound 747 to fill and leave.

We finally took off, and if you click on the photo you can see the tall buildings of downtown Honolulu.

While we left Hawai’i fairly early in the afternoon, it quickly turned into night as we flew on towards Seattle.

We finally landed in Seattle to meet the Dailylife Daughter #2, who took us to an Embassy Suites for the night.

Walking through the terminal we ran across this replica of the Burt Rutan Voyager, the first plane to circumnavigate the globe without stopping or refueling!  The original is in the Smithsonian in Washington, DC.  I remember the flight coverage well.  It was pretty inspirational…
