Day 287

Earlier on this trip, heading towards Crystal Lake State Park south of Moore, a red fox, about three and a half feet long and just gorgeous, ran across the road ahead of me and into the trees.  If I’d had the camera in my hand I probably couldn’t have gotten a shot of him because he was so fast.

Not so with this guy.  Like I mentioned I had knocked the camera to manual without noticing, and when I grabbed it to shoot this guy, they came out really dark.  I have cleaned them up a bit.  It looked like a small wolf or a really well filled out and fluffy coyote, with the odds going towards the latter.  He wasn’t moving quite as fast as the fox…

…then he skylined himself and…

…that sure wasn’t a wolf!

Oh well.  It is the right season for wolves, but I didn’t have a tag or a rifle along.
