50 Years ago, on 20 July, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first two men to set foot on the Moon. This was, I believe, the high point of Civilization on this planet, and it has been a slow slide since. On that day more people in the world came together and held their breath, prayed and celebrated than at anytime before or since. We were, for a brief moment, One Race, the Human Race.
I have previously posted extensive photos and links for this anniversary, but today I am doing something a little different. The Camera used on the Moon voyages was Hasselblad. In the interest of weight savings, they were left there. Going to pick them up for collector sale back here on Earth just might pay for the expedition to go get them!
Hasselblad put out a brochure on the Apollo flights and their part in it. Here it is, with an extra image or two.
