\"In today's episode of Car Lust, we'll follow a young mother and\r\ntwo  of her children as they drive over the river and through the\r\nwoods to  Grandmother's house in the family car.\r\n\r\nSounds exciting, eh?\r\n\r\n\"\"<\/a>  \r\n\r\n\"At this point, you may be wondering what's gotten in to me. After\r\nall, taking the kids for a drive to visit relatives is a pretty mundane\r\nactivity. You've done it yourself, probably more times than you can  count.\r\n\r\n\"This particular trip to this particular grandmother's house, however,\r\nwas a momentous event in automotive history. When Frau<\/em> Bertha Ringer Benz<\/a>\r\nof Mannheim<\/a>, Germany loaded her two teenage boys on the family automobile\r\nthat day in August of 1888 and set off for her mother's house in Pforzheim<\/a>,\r\nit was in fact the first time anyone, anywhere on the planet, had used\r\nan automobile for personal travel. That would make the trip one for the\r\nhistory books all by itself, but there's even more to the story. \r\nFrau<\/em> Benz would accomplish quite a few more automotive \"firsts\" in the\r\ncourse of her 65 mile adventure.\r\n\r\n\u00c2\u00a0\r\n\"In today's episode of Car Lust, we'll follow a young mother and two\r\nof her children as they drive over the river and through the woods to\r\nGrandmother's house in the family car. \"\r\n<\/pre>\n
