{"id":44256,"date":"2026-05-16T23:47:35","date_gmt":"2026-05-17T06:47:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dailylife.barrowroad.com\/?p=44256"},"modified":"2026-05-16T23:48:45","modified_gmt":"2026-05-17T06:48:45","slug":"16-may-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.dailylife.barrowroad.com\/?p=44256","title":{"rendered":"16 May 26!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A coupe of photos of a pet peeve of mine: Windmills. \u00a0Windmills are touted as environmentally friendly\/responsible\/cost effective\u2026NONE of them would be up and running (when they do\u2026ignoring required downtime for maintenance, the wind doesn\u2019t always blow, even in \/\\\/\\onTana!) with out massive subsides. \u00a0The blades are only lasting half as long as predicted, at best. \u00a0It seems that bugs and bird hitting the leading edge at up to 100 mph as the blade turns erodes a lot more than they thought, and recycling is almost nonexistent for the worn out blades. \u00a0They go in landfills. \u00a0The tower and concrete foundation are often just left after the windmill has reached its expiration date. \u00a0And going back a bit to \u201cbugs and birds\u201d literally MILLIONS of birds, including eagles and endangered species, are killed annually by windmills. \u00a0The vast fields of hundreds of windmills ruins scenic views, even if the moving shadows of the blades is intriguing on the ground.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The good side?
