Last year late in our stay the Dailylife Wife heard about Oatman and wanted to go see it.<\/p>\n

https:\/\/www.amusingplanet.com\/2017\/03\/the-wild-burros-of-oatman-arizona.html<\/a><\/p>\n

It was too late and too far for a quick trip last year, but I recalled it was somewhere around Kingman, or at least a lot closer than to Clarkdale!\u00a0 So we decided to make for a shorter day and got a Holiday Inn reservation and dropped off the trailer in Kingman.\u00a0 Then it was off to see the burros!<\/p>\n

It is ten miles of long straight road…then 12 miles of curvy mountain highway!<\/p>\n

This was the original route of the Mother Road: Route 66.\u00a0 Some of the old kitschy places still exist along the way, but this was the only open one.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

You never know what will attack your tires up in these mountains!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Indeed the signs remind you this was Route 66!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And the Dailylife Wife assures me this is a cactus near a mission or something, and not a septic system under an outhouse…<\/p>\n

What is that I see in the roadway?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Now they tell us.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Rough country, indeed!\u00a0 That is our road up here.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n
