<\/a><\/p>\nI was looking for the Camera Club Secret Word of the Month: Yellow.\u00a0 This is the path that leads to our unit.\u00a0 Eventually. And a little more wildlife!<\/p>\n We needed to wash a few things at some point on our vacation, and we found the Resort Laundry.\u00a0 The DLW asked at the desk if they had any small detergents for it, and the receptionist asked why we weren’t using the one in our unit.<\/p>\n The what?\u00a0 We had looked out on this useless little fenced “lanai” off the master bathroom, and sure enough, there was a washer and dryer!\u00a0 I didn’t get to take the photo until we were almost leaving.\u00a0 The other end held the hot water heater.<\/p>\n We went on down to Hanalei.\u00a0 It is very picturesque, and the local craft fair\/farmers market (there are a lot of those around Kaua’i) is on the left end of the photo.<\/p>\n Then up to the Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge Overlook!<\/p>\n They are building or have built a new overlook.\u00a0 It has restrooms!\u00a0 This current one is just a wide spot in the road.\u00a0 The new one is not yet open, but it looks finished from what you can see from the highway.\u00a0 This is another view of the\u00a0NWR itself.<\/p>\n In Hawai’i they make things easy on the local cops: the bad guys are required to identify themselves:<\/p>\n One of the neat things about driving in Hawai’i is that occasionally the road sweeps through the tree tops…<\/p>\n Day2230810<\/a><\/p>\n We went back to the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge<\/a> and Lighthouse!<\/p>\n And always, more chickens. Across the road from our Resort is a really nice, and somewhat older (although not by much…it seems to be a mixture) housing area.\u00a0 We like it!\u00a0 We can’t afford it!\u00a0 We Dang It!<\/p>\n Those are Captain Cook Pines.\u00a0 He planted hundreds, if not thousands of them all around the Pacific on his voyage in the 1700’s.\u00a0 They are good for masts and spars: Ready on the vine spare parts!<\/p>\n This is our unit, the bottom floor on the left.
