I analyzed my mileage on my trip taking the Trailer to Arizona.\u00c2\u00a0 Sort of…<\/p>\n

Last year I averaged 6.83 miles per gallon.\u00c2\u00a0 This year I averaged 8.2 MPG.<\/p>\n

Last year I drove 1173 miles to get the trailer down there.\u00c2\u00a0 This year it was 1300 miles.\u00c2\u00a0 I took the same route…I know it wouldn’t match exactly, but 127 miles difference?<\/p>\n

Other things:\u00c2\u00a0 I did try to stop at the same stations, and at least I stopped in the same towns.\u00c2\u00a0 I don’t recall the speeds I drove last year, but this year it was between 60MPH and 70MPH, mostly, out on the open highway, so it wasn’t too far off..\u00c2\u00a0 It might have been slightly windier last year, but it could just be the new trailer, with the aerodynamic front end, handles better than the old one with the billboard front (pretty much straight up and down).<\/p>\n

18 May 2019 to 13 Nov 2021 (2 years, 5 months):\u00c2\u00a0 32,413 miles, 2,457.5 gallons, $6,448.69, 13.2 MPG, 5 miles\/dollar!<\/p>\n

13 Nov 2021 to 22 Nov 2021 (1.5 weeks): 2,694 miles, 245.8 gallons, $936.87, 11 MPG, 2.88 miles\/dollar!<\/p>\n

The price of gas is way up!\u00c2\u00a0 Let’s Go Brandon!<\/p>\n

The reason the 32,413 miles has better mileage is that I only towed a trailer about 2,700 miles out of that 2 years, 5 months, or less than 10%.\u00c2\u00a0 My 1.5 weeks in November 2021 I towed the trailer 50% of the miles.\u00c2\u00a0 Over the longer period I would average between 13MPG and 17MPG without the trailer.<\/p>\n

In Summary: Driving a truck with sub-20’s mileage is expensive.<\/p>\n

Gas is way up and driving is expensive period!<\/p>\n

Towing a trailer is expensive!<\/p>\n

Towing a trailer with a billboard front is more expensive than one with an aerodynamic curve!<\/p>\n
