Well, it is the Very Large Array.  From wikipedia:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The\u00c2\u00a0<strong>Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0(<strong>VLA<\/strong>) is a\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Radio_astronomy\">centimeter-wavelength radio astronomy<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Observatory\">observatory<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0located in central New Mexico on the\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Plains_of_San_Agustin\">Plains of San Agustin<\/a>, between the towns of\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Magdalena,_New_Mexico\">Magdalena<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0and\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Datil,_New_Mexico\">Datil<\/a>, ~50\u00c2\u00a0miles (80\u00c2\u00a0km) west of\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Socorro,_New_Mexico\">Socorro<\/a>. The VLA comprises twenty-eight 25-meter radio telescopes (27 of which are operational while one is always rotating through maintenance) deployed in a Y-shaped array and all the equipment, instrumentation, and computing power to function as an\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Astronomical_interferometer\">interferometer<\/a>. Each of the massive telescopes is mounted on double parallel railroad tracks, so the radius and density of the array can be transformed to adjust the balance between its angular resolution and its surface brightness sensitivity.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Very_Large_Array#cite_note-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00c2\u00a0Astronomers using the VLA have made key observations of black holes and protoplanetary disks around young stars, discovered magnetic filaments and traced complex gas motions at the Milky Way&#8217;s center, probed the Universe&#8217;s cosmological parameters, and provided new knowledge about the physical mechanisms that produce radio emission.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailylife.barrowroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Day2005402.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"210\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dailylife.barrowroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Day2005402-600x210.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35897\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.dailylife.barrowroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Day2005402-600x210.jpg 600w, http:\/\/www.dailylife.barrowroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Day2005402-300x105.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.dailylife.barrowroad.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Day2005402-768x269.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each leg of the &#8220;Y&#8221; shaped is 21 kilmeters\/13 miles long!
