And of course, my favorite lifeboats: the single keel for lots of people and the catamaran, extra stable and used as a water taxi when the ship can’t reach the dock for some reason (oh, say: too many cruise ships!<\/p>\n
There is a park on the waterfront welcoming people to Ketchikan.\u00c2\u00a0 It has this Eagle statue bowing to the people coming to town.\u00c2\u00a0 Of course, if you look at it from the other side there is a face there too…<\/p>\n (1\/400, f8, 40mm, ISO 200)<\/p>\n These were taken on our bus ride through town on the way to the Totem Pole village.<\/p>\n This is Whale Park, and our first Totem Pole.\u00c2\u00a0 I only recall a few of the things they are suppose to mean.<\/p>\n (1\/200, f8, 22mm, ISO 200)<\/p>\n I think this horse drawn coach is actually a better way to see town, other than being subjected to more of the driver’s bad jokes…<\/p>\n (1\/60, f8, 40mm, ISO 200)<\/p>\n There is all kinds of neat stuff in Ketchikan, on fish hatcheries, salmon spawning runs, the red light district over the creeks full of salmon.\u00c2\u00a0 I didn’t photos of that stuff…cruise ships are a great way to travel and see places, but they do run on a tight schedule…<\/p>\n But this is apparently the only tunnel in the US that you can drive Around…<\/p>\n (1\/100, F8, 40MM, ISO 200)<\/p>\n …Over…<\/p>\n (1\/60, f8, 40mm, ISO 200)<\/p>\n …Under…<\/p>\n<\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n<\/a> <\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n
