Today was a Good Day<\/em><\/strong>. \u00c2\u00a0No other way to put it. \u00c2\u00a0We got off the ship in Icy Straight.<\/p>\n

This small town had a good sized canning plant. \u00c2\u00a0It is now a museum and shops.<\/p>\n

We had to tender in. \u00c2\u00a0There isn’t a dock big enough for the Amsterdam. \u00c2\u00a0I think one of these lifeboat\/tenders would make a great houseboat…<\/p>\n

We couldn’t get a Holland America sponsored whale watching tour here because they were already filled up, so the Dailylife Wife found us an independent operator. \u00c2\u00a0This is the boatyard on the way to his dock. \u00c2\u00a0That’d make a great houseboat, too…<\/p>\n

This is the guide’s dock, or the city dock for Hoonan. \u00c2\u00a0The boat we took is right behind that orange cargo vessel. \u00c2\u00a0As you can see the fog decided to roll in.<\/p>\n

This is where I am kicking myself. \u00c2\u00a0I missed this photo opportunity completely. \u00c2\u00a0A single photo panorama from the Dailylife Wife!<\/p>\n

This Bald Eagle lives down by the city dock.<\/p>\n

The guide said he and his son had seen the whales blowing bubble nets the day before, and if we were up for a longer trip he’d take us out there. \u00c2\u00a0The six of us on his tour we fine with that. \u00c2\u00a0So we were off in the fog.<\/p>\n

Looming dark shadows quickly became…the Amsterdam…<\/p>\n

Then it was out of the fog…<\/p>\n

…and into the sun!<\/p>\n
