(Later: \u00c2\u00a0Nope, Romney didn’t get the popular vote from what I see, so the electoral college, needs some change, but I think it is still a good idea. \u00c2\u00a0I do have a few choice words to say tot he Libertarians who allowed Testor to stay in the Senatae and the Democrat to take the Governorship. \u00c2\u00a0The difference between the Democrat and the Republican was smaller the the Libertarian canidates total in both races. \u00c2\u00a0That is how Testor won six years ago, too: he got more votes than Burns, but not as many as Burns plus the guy running to the right of him.)<\/p>\n
I think the Electoral College should be by Congressional districts, not whole states. \u00c2\u00a0I don’t think the founders considered the idea that one state (California) would have 55 votes (over 1\/6 the total needed of 270) and would be deadlocked for one party only. \u00c2\u00a0Maybe it should be LA as one block, San Francisco as one, and northern CA as one and southern CA as one. \u00c2\u00a0As it is the one party can count on CA as 1\/6 of the EC votes needed by getting one single vote more than the other party. \u00c2\u00a0Not hard to do with the populations centers of LA and SF. leaving the rest of the state, with a lot of opposing views, out in the cold.<\/p>\n
